OM Sai Group excels in Water Transfer Printing, an innovative way to apply intricate designs to 3D surfaces.
Water transfer printing, often referred to as hydro dipping or immersion printing, is a technique used to apply intricate printed designs onto three-dimensional objects. This decorative method is versatile, allowing for the application of designs on various materials, including metal, plastic, glass, and hardwood. It is frequently used to enhance items such as car dashboards, bike helmets, and other automotive components, as well as smaller decorative objects. The technique involves a film printed with a chosen design, which is carefully placed on the surface of water in a dipping tank.
The substrate, which has undergone preparatory steps such as cleaning, priming, and painting, is submerged inthe water, allowing the printed film to adhere to its surface. A key step in this process is the application of an activator solution, which dissolves the film and enables the design to conform seamlessly to the contours of the object. The adhesion achieved in this process is the result of a chemical reaction between the activator and the base coat, which softens the surface and allows the ink to bond securely. Proper technique is essential for success, as applying too much or too little activator can lead to poor adhesion. Once the design is applied, the object is rinsed to remove any residue, dried, and often coated with a clear protective layer to ensure durability.
Using a water-soluble film, we create custom patterns on items like helmets, automotive parts, and home decor. With the ability to wrap complex shapes, our hydro dipping services add a unique and professional touch to any product.
